WITHIN THE LINES

The Southern Appalachian Office of The Wilderness Society presents "Within the Lines", an exhibition of visual art organized to celebrate and support the work of the Southern Appalachian Office and to commemorate 50 Years of The Wilderness Act. Within the Lines features the drawings, paintings, and photographs of regional artists whose deep connection to the Southern Appalachian Wilderness is revealed through their creative work.

FLOWING THREADS - FIBER ART AND DRAWING
September 19 - November 9, 2014
Flowing Threads, curated by Edie Carpenter, was developed concurrently with "Line, Touch, Trace", at the North Carolina Museum of Art, an exhibition presenting thirteen NC artists. Contemporary drawing encompasses any number of practices with the term used to describe marks made by mechanical means, residues of physical actions or ephemeral lines in space, "Line, Touch, Trace" focuses on draftsmanship and presents thirty hand-drawn studio drawings in a wide range of media.

The Red Clay Survey: 2014 Exhibition of Contemporary Southern Art
August 17 – October 26, 2014
The Red Clay Survey is a major recurring regional competition sponsored by the Huntsville Museum of Art. The exhibition “takes the pulse” of contemporary Southern art every two years through a selection of work in all styles and media determined by a juror with strong national credentials.
