Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Marketing: Assist with design content, including but not limited to all print and digital ads. Manage marketing/advertising calendar. Edit and finalize all materials that go to print, including but not limited to announcement cards, artist biographies and exhibition descriptions. Ensure marketing materials are organized and all ad and editorial deadlines are met.

Communications: Write and submit press releases. Manage gallery newsletter and other external mailings. Manage social media outlets. Assist with managing interns.

Other qualifications and responsibilities: Prior work experience in the art industry is ideal, although not required. On a daily basis, engage in regular sales responsibilities, client engagement and consulting. Proficiency in database management, social media tools, Adobe CS, POS systems, and photography. Help with exhibition installation every other month. Work as a team player - advising on exhibition content, new artists, and community relations. Assist with gallery upkeep. Help with opening and closing procedures. Be able to walk up and down steps and a ladder, and lift 40+ lbs. Attendance and punctuality are enforced. Employees must arrive for every shift on-time, 30 minutes before opening. Occasionally work overtime or outside hours for gallery events, staff meetings, and installation turnover. For example, First Friday Art Walks from 6-8p.

This is a permanent, full-time position; 40 hours/week, competitive pay. Limited benefits and 90 day introductory period apply. Start date: August 2019.
